Minor S278 Works
ZEaDS Minor S278 Works
Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980 allows a developer to carry out works to the public highway. This is generally necessary where planning permission has been granted for a development that requires improvements or changes to public highways. S278 agreement involves a wide range of works, varying from a small developer who might require new access to a small plot of land, right up to multi-million pound schemes to install a new roundabout or traffic signal junction by a large national developer.
We have completed a wide range of s278 works across the south-east and the London Boroughs, usually as the adoption manager, liaising with relevant adopting authorities and contractors on behalf of our clients to swiftly and seamlessly finalise adoptions.
However, drawing from our wealth of experience we are now offering our clients an inclusive package where we also act as the principle contractor (for minor s278 works), overseeing the day to day construction of the scheme including the management of vendors and trades, and the communication of information to all stakeholders throughout the course of the a project until adoption takes place.
ZEaDS can help with any combination of works(but not limited) listed below:
- Bell-mouth
- Pedestrian crossings
- Cycle-way / Footpath Construction
- Traffic Calming Measures
- Hard / Soft Landscaping
- Pedestrian Island
